Degrees offered: M.A.Sc., M.Eng., M.Des., Ph.D.

The School of Engineering at the UBC Okanagan campus currently offers Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees with specialization in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering.

The M.A.Sc. is a graduate-level study program requiring completion of a research thesis and coursework. Completion of a M.A.Sc. degree is normally required for admission to a Ph.D. program. The M.Eng. is a professional program suited to students who wish to pursue their engineering education beyond the undergraduate level but who do not wish to complete thesis research. The M.Des. is a professional program grounded in human centred, design orientation. The M.Des. curriculum and pedagogy explores critical design thinking, creative practice, and engineering principles within a culture of innovation, creativity and social and sustainable entrepreneurship. This degree is a unique, interdisciplinary state-of-the-art programmes delivered jointly by the School of Engineering (SOE) and Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies FCCS.
