Concentrations offer formal recognition on a student's academic record for courses completed in alignment with a specific area within their program. 

Resilient Infrastructure Management Concentration 

Designed for Civil Engineering Students with a focus on resilient design principles. 

The concentration consists of 12 credits of approved Resilient Infrastructure Management electives to be chosen from a list provided by the School of Engineering. Upon successful completion of the requirements for the concentration, the notation “Concentration in Resilient Infrastructure Management” will be placed on the student’s transcript. 

Environmental Engineering Concentration 

Designed for Civil Engineering Students with a focus on sustainable and environmental engineering. The concentration consists of 12 credits of approved Environmental Engineering electives to be chosen from a list provided by the School of Engineering. Upon successful completion of the requirements for the concentration, the notation “Concentration in Environmental Engineering” will be placed on the student’s transcript. 

Biomedical Engineering Concentration 

Designed for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Students with a focus on biomedical devices, technology and systems. The concentration consists of 12 credits of approved Biomedical Engineering electives to be chosen from a list provided by the School of Engineering. Upon successful completion of the requirements for the concentration, the notation “Concentration in Biomedical Engineering” will be placed on the student’s transcript. 

Mechatronics Concentration 

Designed for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Students with a focus on electromechanical systems integrated with embedded electronics, sensors and actuators. The concentration consists of 15 credits of approved Mechatronics courses to be chosen from a list provided by the School of Engineering. Upon successful completion of the requirements for the concentration, the notation “Concentration in Mechatronics” will be placed on the student’s transcript. 

Aerospace Concentration 

Designed for Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Students with a focus on aircraft design, aerospace materials, and propulsion systems. The concentration consists of 12 credits of approved Aerospace electives to be chosen from a list provided by the School of Engineering. Upon successful completion of the requirements for the concentration, the notation “Concentration in Aerospace” will be place don the student’s transcript.
