Master of Science (M.Sc.)

The M.Sc. program is governed by the regulations of the College of Graduate Studies, including its standards for admission of students.

Students entering the M.Sc. program will normally have an honours degree or a bachelor's degree in mathematics with at least a B+ (76% or higher) average.

All applicants must meet the English language proficiency requirements of the College of Graduate Studies of UBC Okanagan.

Students are encouraged to contact the program prior to applying to discuss their admission.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

The Ph.D. program is governed by the regulations of the College of Graduate Studies, including its standards for admission of students. Students admitted to the Ph.D. degree program normally must possess an M.Sc. in Mathematics or a related area with a B+ (76%) average or higher in their M.Sc. coursework and thesis, with clear evidence of research ability or potential. Exceptional students may be admitted directly to the Ph.D. program with only an Honours degree.

Transfer from the M.Sc. to the Ph.D. program is permitted at the discretion of the program, under regulations set by the College of Graduate Studies after 12 but no more than 18 months in the M.Sc. program.
